Based on Cooling Requirements

If the temperature drop requirement is mild (≤30℃) and the material is moisture-sensitive, an air-cooled screw conveyor is recommended. For large temperature drops (>30℃), high capacity, or high ambient workshop temperatures, a water-cooled cooling screw conveyor is mandatory.

Based on Material Characteristics

For powders and granules (e.g., cement clinker), select a tubular water-cooled design. For sticky or easily caked hot materials, a U-shaped structure with wear-resistant liners is recommended to prevent materials from sticking and rotating with the screw.

Material & Interface Confirmation

The inner tube and screw blades in contact with materials should be made of 304/316L stainless steel to withstand high temperatures and prevent corrosion, while the outer tube can be carbon steel. Confirm the inlet/outlet positions for cooling water pipes and on-site water pressure requirements in advance.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation Standards

The equipment must be installed on a solid, level foundation, ensuring trough levelness and concentricity error with the screw body ≤5/1000. High-temperature seals must be used at cooling water pipe connections, followed by pressure testing to prevent leaks.

Daily Maintenance

Cooling water must be supplied before startup; dry running without water is strictly prohibited. Regularly inspect the wear of rotary joints and seals to prevent cooling water from seeping into the materials. Before shutdown, stop feeding first, and only turn off the cooling water system after the tube is completely emptied.

Fault Prevention

If the discharge temperature rises abnormally, check for insufficient cooling water flow or scale blockage in the pipes. In case of blockage, never force a restart; clear the materials through the cleaning door and investigate the cause.
